A little greed is good and healthy. Too much greed is destructive to oneself and everyone around them. it's the same thing with anything: eat too much get fat, etc. I get extremely excited every time I watch this because it is so amazing! The Paladins Fredrick could hear the thrum of the engines as they flew away. The woman was spoon feeding him a broth. "Eat Fredrick. We will need you strong. Fred ate. It was a very long voyage. Long enough for Fredrick to make it through the food stores, and regrow his tongue. It was a colony far up the pipe. Here the storms dropped a dirty snow rather than a bloody rain. They landed in the middle of a large refinery. Exiting the vehicle they were greeted by a group of people all bearing X's on their foreheads. A man stepped forward. "Welcome Fredrick. We have been awaiting your arrival. Fredrick smiled. "It has been a long time William. Fred said. The man bowed his head. "I go by Marcus now. Fred looked at him quizzically. "Different life, different name. Fred smiled. "I understand. Fred looked around at the building he was being carried into. "What is this place. Marcus raised his hands up as they walked. "This is the colony of Aberdeen. The forge of the Paladins. Explain. Fredrick insisted. Marcus spoke, maintaining step with the others down the corridor. "I remembered Mr. Jones. I saw your face on my communicator and I remembered. He lowered his hands. "We fought a feather before, you and I. You died attempting to drown it in lava. Fredrick interrupted. "Attempted. Yes. Marcus continued. "The lava burned its flesh, but the feather was immune. It could move through it just fine. We fought for a very long time atop that hole before we were all slain. Marcus cut off as they entered a large auditorium. He motioned the woman to carry Fredrick up to a podium. "Tell them what you know. Marcus said as he smiled. She sat Fredrick down, microphone pointed at his face. He looked out over a crowd of armor clad men and women all bearing an X on their foreheads. "I was told to tell you what I know. The microphone cracked as he spoke. "We are in hell. The crowd laughed. Fredrick continued. "Not only are we in hell, but I have seen Satan. The crowd quickly fell silent. "That seems to have hit a cord. Fredrick looked over the crowd. "Some think that it is just us here, torturing ourselves. Others know, as I do, that the feathers are something else. They are not of us. He bit his lip for a second, and then spoke. "They are called feathers for a reason. They are the feathers of the fallen angel. A rumble of whispers rolled through the auditorium. Fredrick lifted his head up high and continued as the whispers died down. "He has kept us here. He has bottled us up and let us tear ourselves apart. Whenever we become to organized he sends his feathers out to disrupt us. Fredrick paused. "You all wear armor. Two of your people pulled me out of Krohl as it was being destroyed. You all sit and listen to me, right here, right now. Fredrick looked along the front seats at the pale hairless people looking up at him. "Our ambition, our greed, our lust, our anger, all our weaknesses he uses against us. He uses them all in an effort to grind down our hope. He wants us broken. He wants us unwilling to fight. He wants us to think there is no way out. Fred took a breath and then shouted. "But there is a way out! It is through him! It is through his feathers, and we can do it. The auditorium roared with cheers. The woman walked over and picked Fredrick up, taking him back offstage. Marcus patted Fredrick on the stump of a shoulder. "You did well. You are planning on attacking aren't you. Fredrick asked. Marcus nodded. "We already have. Three of the loosed feathers have been recaptured already. From what I saw. I thought the city was over run. "It was, and still is. said Marcus. "The gates in the city fell, and those who perish are redistributed throughout the network or if unlucky they fall back through time. Marcus walked the woman and Fredrick up to a room where they sat down. She poured Marcus a goblet of blood wine, and then set a bottle next to Fredrick with a long straw to his mouth. "It's spreading. Marcus said. "What is. asked Fredrick. Marcus smiled. "Hope. Marcus stood up and walked across the room and pulled down a map. It was a long thermometer looking design. Marcus pointed at dots all along the length of it. "Great cities, greater than any ever from the first life, have risen up all along the length. There are factories, military bases, storehouses of machines that go for kilometers, more tools than you could ever imagine. All of these cities are full of people who build. They are creators who have given up killing each other and want to make something. They churn out the weapons and machines needed to attack that which attacks us. They have done so for eons, since you first fired the feather into the last battle. Fredrick looked at him funny. "The last battle. Marcus nodded. "The last battle where man fought man. Marcus pointed down at the base of the thermometer map of hell. "Everyone knows now. The networks are lit up. Contingents are engaged all along the tube, and have pushed the feathers back. Those that haven't fled to the maw are surrounded and being recaptured. Who is leading them. Fredrick asked. "No one. He walked over to Fredrick and sat back down. "People are making weapons and giving them out to whomever wants them. Rather than attack each other, they march down and fight. Marcus laughed. "We are ants now. We attack and send out signals, and allies we have never met come to our aid. Marcus took a long drink, and then spoke with a smirk. "The end is near Fredrick Jones. Are you ready. The news channel had started back up and filmed the retaking of Krohl. Fredrick and the Paladins watched as the feathers there were refrozen. Fredrick had heard from the front line during his period of regrowth. The host of man had been fighting at the Maw against thousands of feathers. Some of them were massive, taking on countless bodies to make up their own, while others were nimble and used a singular body to strike with unparalleled speed. Pipelines of green goo where run to the edge of the mountains, but were under heavy attack. The feathers knew, and feared them. The mobile clasped gates were a bit farther back from the front lines then the pipes. Trains carrying manufactured goods went as far as the gates. Along the base of the mountains a line of steel castle like wall had been built. Laser units, flame drones, missile launchers, and a host of other ranged weaponry had been positioned to keep the tide of feathers back. The tendrils were flowing strongly out of the numerous boreholes that had been dug into the hole. Fred had suited up. He had bonded armor to his body. He had several tanks of goo grown into his chest cavity, and a spout in each hand. On his back he carried a large sword carved from a large crystal cut from the side of an overgrown mobile gate. On his belt he carried a small railgun. For his mode of transportation he chose a firefly, a small one manned aerial vehicle with bladed wings, three machine guns, and two crystalline missiles. Like a lone goose finding a flock, Fredrick joined in a V that he encountered enroute to the maw. They were a group of friends from the first life who had managed to find each other, and now they attacked, died, regrouped and attacked again. Fred was happy to join them. Their leader, Derrick, addressed the flock. "We are nearing the Maw. Arm weapons and prepare for combat. Fredrick flicked off his safeties and armed weapons. "Roger that Derrick. He said in unison with the others. Then they descended. It was chaos. The storm thundered overhead while millions of blazing particles fired underneath. Balls of molten metal were being launched up and out of the Maw towards the wall. A host of intercept missiles and bullets rocketed to meet them. The fireflies that Fred had joined dodged and weaved. A woman shrieked over the intercom as she was hit by friendly fire and flew out of control into the maw. Fred dodged a ball of molten metal and did a fly by over the wall. A sword wielding feather wearing the skin of a long haired woman ran up the wall toward a breach. Fred fired a missile. It connected with it, glueing it to the wall. Several of the men on the wall cheered as they reeled in the frozen feather. "Good shot Jones. Came a cry over the intercom. "Keep focused guys. Fred replied. Fred strafed line after line across the base of the wall, cutting the tendrils back. He spotted a large beast made of thousands of faces stuck in mid scream crest the mountain peaks. He fired his last missile into heart of its heads, and it recoiled, falling back into the hole. Out of ammunition he flew back across the wall, looking for a safe place to land. A man was waving at him with two glow wands. He followed the signals and hovered onto a circle. Within moments a crew had come to his side and began repairing holes, refueling, and rearming the firefly. Fredrick leaned over and shouted to the man who waved him down. "Status report. The man walked closer, and shouted over the roar of the idling engines. "B wall has a hose ready to launch over the side, but they could use more cover fire. Fred nodded. "Can you pull the machine guns and give me more missiles. The men gave him the ok sign, and refitted his firefly. Within moments he was up and airborne with five more missiles. Fredrick cruised the wall. He was flying along F wall, dodging fire. Then E wall came up, besieged by a large mountain of a feather. He flew on past it, continued past D and C, and then saw the sea of feathers hitting B. The large B was painted on the side of the wall for the pilots to see, but it was slowly being covered by a net of feather. Fredrick made out several feathers balled together attacking. The wall was caving under the onslaught of their barrage of meat and men. Fred aimed his firefly toward their center. Without readying to fire the missiles he nose dived. The feathers took notice a moment to late. He had ejected into the air as his craft impacted the center of their mass. The green explosion echoed outwards, encasing a crater full of feather in crystal. Fredrick landed with a thud on a mat of crystalized tendrils. A quick moving feather struck at him. He dodged and fired a bolt from his railgun. The bolt caught the feather in its sword arm, blowing it apart. The feather grazed the ground and reconstituted its arm from bits of bone and sinew in the dust. It held the other sword and came again. Fred fired, missing. The gun jammed. The feather struck, impaling him in the stomach. It forced the blade upwards, as its tendrils seeped down its blade and into his torso. Fred palmed the place where its eyes should be, and injected it with the crystalline goo he had mounted in his chest. The feather froze still, and the two collapsed together. Fred laid there as a large machine on tracks rolled by. People were frantically cutting at the crater of feathers trying to capture them, while others kept up suppressive fire. Fred tilted his head and watched as a truck carrying a large hose reached a bore hole. Men hopped out, and unclasped the massive tube, lurching it over the hole. They clamped it down into the earth. A man spoke into a radio. Fredrick could feel the flow rumbling past him as the gel was pumped down the hole. Beyond the Maw a large shriek echoed out. A woman stooped over Fredrick. She quickly cut at the strands stuck into his body. "You ok. Fred looked down, and then back up at her. "I got a sword in my liver. She smiled. "Think you can walk. Get it out of me and I probably can. He replied. She pulled out the sword as a crew arrived to contain the frozen feather. The radio lit up with cries. "Incoming. She heaved Fredrick up onto his feet. Fred looked around to see everyone running past him back to the wall. He turned to see a tide erupting from around the mountains. A tide of feathers rolled down the hill toward the B wall. The woman tugged at him to run, but he had stopped. "Hurry! To the wall. she shouted. Fredrick waved her off of him. "Go. I got this. Dumb son of a bitch. She shrugged and ran to the wall. Fred pulled the crystal sword off his back. The first there were of the nimble ninjaesque variety. He shot one in the face with some remaining goo, stunning it. He dodged the second's blow, and struck the third in the core. The one he struck quivered, and he raised his sword up cutting its primary vein. It fell, trying to reconstitute itself. Fred spun around deflecting a strike, and jumped back. Two were still on him. They swung at him. He parried and kicked one in the chest. Tendrils stuck in his calf. He sliced them free and ran backwards. He stopped as his back hit the tube pumping the green goo. Other, larger feathers were close now. He was slowly getting surrounded. He turned his sword and cut open the tube, showering the attackers with gel. The feathers erupted in crystals. Fred pulled his sword free and rolled away before he got more than a small spattering on his armor. Like salted slugs, they chased him. They crawled and clamored trying to get at him, as they slowly crackled and slunk down into the lake of goo pooling around them. Large crystals grew out of the ground, causing the fires in the sky above to be reflected along the walls. The battle at B wall had caused a rather large diversion for all the other walls, allowing numerous other hoses to be deployed. The line of fire had begun to move away from the walls, and down to the lip of the Maw. Fredrick outran his pursuers, and firefly pilots picked them off. Containment crews ran out and began cutting the feather cores out, readying them to be shipped to the top of the pipe. Men and women poured out of rolling gates in the wall. All with weapons armed and readied they climbed the mountains. Fred joined the host of man, and climbed up the nearest mountain. A large machine clambered past, leaving stairs carved out in its wake. Fred crawled over, and began advancing on the new stairway. At the top Fred found people laying flat and sniping down into the pit. A man launched an RPG down into the hole, and another person quickly reloaded him so he could fire again. Fred climbed around the boulders trying to get a good view of the area down below. He found a small crevice, and peered down. Pilots were already descending and firing upon everything below. It was like a spider's nest down there. It was encased in web, with flows of green fluid pouring out sporadically. Where the green goo hardened pilots were dropping people off to fight. Horrific conglomerations of flesh would rise up from the bonemeal floor only to be ripped apart from sniper fire. Fred heard gravel disturbed nearby. He looked up to see the Charon standing over him. It spoke with a voice made of a thousand strings rubbing together. "The first shall be last Fredrick Jones. It is not your time to go. It raised its hands and Fredrick was covered in white tendrils.

Happiness & Love are local and come from within, not from outside. You can not give happiness or love to someone either, except create or enhance the atmosphere for the bouncing effect to expand and continue. Some might think someone or something can give them love & happiness, but that is not possible, except they can act as a trigger or as a permission slip, if you let others have the control switch (to use it as they wish) for you to activate your happy & loving zone/hormones. in pursuit of happiness is a moronic idea. You can only pursue something that is out side of you, since happiness, love, etc are within you, it is impossible for anyone to pursue what you already have.

Its a sad fact that being rich does not determine a persons ethics, intelligence or standards. Is the need to become richer a sign of insecurity or just greed. How much money does a human being need to live a full and fruitful life? Are we here to recognise our sameness and help those who find living in a very materialistic society difficult, or who have disabilities that preclude them from taking part in the workforce, therefore putting them in a position of lack in a capitalist economy where having money is essential? Or is Darwins misguided dog-eat-dog theory that we are no different to the animal kingdom, therefore anyone whose unable to keep up can be left behind.

This is why religion and its moral values needs to be heightened and encouraged. Film greece. Greed film 2018. How did the first wife pay overva million dollars without damn job. The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind.

Movie greedy are you retarded. Bury him in Mississippi🔥🤘💨. DW is an excellent channel. I am learning a lot! I used to watch DW in Spanish when I was a teen... I wrote this last night and wanted to share. Figured this would be the best place to do so. When I was a boy there was a copy of Ragmans Son that seemed to always catch my eye. My father kept the copy out for an extended period of time, or so it seems in my faded memory, around the time I was six or seven. Even after it was dutifully shelved with all the other titles in his collection, sports biographies, legal histories, true crime stories, it stood out. The lone celebrity biography. There was something about the image on the cover. This somewhat worn, slightly sagging face with its piercing eyes, silver hair, and dimpled chin. Looking at you over the shoulder with a slight sneer of defiance and, yet, also an invitation. Come with me. I have something to share with you. Its no wonder such a face and presence drew audiences to the screen. Its no wonder that there was something so much deeper at play. Its no wonder there was an artist underneath this exterior that exuded a kind of rough masculinity mixed with equal parts charm and slick wit. I probably first saw that face on the screen during a showing of The War Wagon on AMC. John Wayne brought me to sit at my fathers side, but it was this other fella that kept me there. The Duke, as magnetic and incredible a presence as he was seemed to have something to prove. The other guy didnt. The other guy already had it. And if you were lucky he might let you in on the secret of how to get it. That may sum up the genius of Kirk Douglas, but it would also do a disservice. He was inspirational, really. I read his novels, Dance with the Devil and the Gift, before I had a chance to dive fully into his film oeuvre. They were filled with texture. Stories of Hollywood and filmmaking, of greed and sex, of loss and love. Stories that looked at the impact of the Holocaust and terrorism before it was terribly en vogue to do so. A line from Dance With The Devil stuck with me and informed how I viewed an entire genre of film to this day. Im paraphrasing, but it pertained to a great directors advice that all you really needed to know was Shakespeare and if you borrowed enough from him, you could make a great western. He inspired my songwriting, or rather his films did. I wrote a tune called Lonely Are The Brave after I saw his ode to the dying days of the cowboy. Its a brilliant film and the climax is still one of the more terrifying and desolating Ive seen committed to celluloid. He co-starred with Robert Mitchum in Out of the Past and Mitchums line “Build my gallows high” found its way into another song. A tenuous connection, but all the same. Before I was 20, I had seen him in numerous films. His performance in In Harms Way is searing and viewed through a modern lens is no less honest and in some ways even more impactful. Ace in the Hole, Paths of Glory, Lust For Life, The Bad and the Beautiful. The list goes on and on, but those are the ones to run to your streaming service and watch if youve yet to view them. Champion is another personal favorite of mine. He turned down another film and three times the money to make the noir-ish tale of a selfish boxer because he saw it as a risk and greater opportunity. He nailed it. It garnered him his first Academy Award nomination and helped him to break free of his natural shyness and amp up his intensity on screen going forward. For a man who lived most of his life on-screen, though, it was a contribution he made behind the scenes that he was often most proud of. Kirk Douglas broke the Blacklist. Spartacus was a film he was passionate about. He replaced his choice of director, Anthony Mann, with Stanley Kubrick after their success on Paths of Glory. He also selected Dalton Trumbo to write the screenplay. Only thats not the name that appeared on the drafts… That was Sam Jackson. In an act that many called courageous, Douglas insisted that the blacklisted Trumbo be credited properly. Effectively ending the decade long Blacklist brought about by the Red Scare and McCarthyism. I was 15 when news of his stroke hit and questions were raised as to his health as he neared his 80s. His son, Michael, would frequently be asked about his dad in interviews and his response was always encouraging: “Hes doing great”. And, it turns out, he was. He appeared a few months after the stroke to accept a lifetime achievement award. He penned another biography. He made more films. He performed in a one-man show. Even as recently as 2018, he appeared at the Golden Globes with his daughter-in-law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, to present an award. He was born the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants. It was not an easy coming of age, but it provided fertile ground for an imagination. Douglas said he knew he wanted to be an actor from the time he was six years old. That passion, his no-fear attitude, his drive, led him to a lengthy, revered career. One of the few to truly tread the imaginary line between star and actor. One of the last of his generation of Hollywood. His first marriage went down in flames, but his second lasted over 60 years. His family would go into the business, most famously his son Michael. Kirk originated the role of McMurphy in the Broadway run of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. He tried to get the film made to no avail. Michael would go on to purchase the rights from his dad and then cast Jack Nicholson in the lead, passing over his own father because he knew it was the right call. Kirk did too. It became a joke among them. Kirk had been known for being a bit ruthless and difficult to work with in his younger days. He was usually the first to admit it. He could probably understand and perhaps even admire his sons choice. He was a philanthropist. He donated millions of dollars, probably close to 100 million in his lifetime, maybe more. 50 million alone to an Alzheimers research facility in Woodland Hills. Schools, playgrounds, theaters, and the Anne Douglas Center for Homeless Women, all received large contributions from Kirk and Anne. He was a lifelong Democrat and believed passionately in many liberal causes. Jimmy Carter awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his volunteer efforts and meeting with Anwar Sadat in 1980. He was a Jew. Something he would not have written himself in his early days. He struggled to come to terms with what it meant to be Jewish. It wasnt until he survived a helicopter crash in 1991 that he fully embraced the religion of his parents. He even starred in a number of films with the self-identified underlying them of “a Jew who doesn't think of himself as one, and eventually finds his Jewishness”. His autobiographies often explored his own search for meaning and how his own Jewishness defined him whether he accepted it or not. He was an ardent supporter of Israel and what the Jewish-state meant in a post-war world. He wrote letters as recently as 2006 advocating for his support of Israel and why it was important that the state exist. He was Spartacus. He was so much more. I have only scratched the surface. A life well-lived. Well-loved. Well-worn. Well-earned. Issur Danielovitch who became Izzy Demsky who became Kirk Douglas. Rest well, sir.

You will become restless and your mind will never be content. Your heart will feel empty and there will be a desperate desire to have more. If you are reading this then you know that there is truth to this statement. God desires you to seek Him and not earthly you do then these worldly material things will be provided out of necessity because God knows you need things to survive - He created you after all. Besides, if you seek money you abandon God for an idol. Yes the world runs on money, but faith in God is more powerful. It is written in the Bible, What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Mark 8:36 NIV You cannot serve God and money, so make the choice but remember that you cannot take earthly wealth when you leave this world. Earthly wealth means nothing in the Kingdom of God. So be humble, pray continuously for God to support you. Have faith that God loves and cares for your needs. You will find a peace, a contentness that doesn't come from a promotion. Money is fleeting but Jesus Christ is forever. Believe in Jesus. I ask Jesus everyday now to instruct me to who needs to hear His message today from me and today it is the greedy. Yesterday it was the suicidal. All will be told comforting messages as this is the mission of a Christian: To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and straighten the paths of the crooked I preparation for the Kingdom of God.

I started laughing at the mustache part. What are your favourite movies that do not exist in their correct form, that have been mangled beyond recognition, that have major flaws, that are partially lost forever, or are gloriously messy, but are still so immensely powerful or whose strengths so significant that you cannot write them off? Some personal favourites to get everyone started. Orson Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons (1942. this movie should have been better than Citizen Kane. It's warmer, more delicate and in its achingly melancholy and romantic recreation of the past, it's never been equalled. Sadly, the studio cut Welles' film by close to 50 minutes without his supervision, and filmed a new ending out of line with what was intended, and the footage is lost forever (NOTE: The full story is significantly more complicated, and involves some poor judgment and irresponsibility on Welles' part, although the bad will of the studios is still the culprit. The comments are free to add detail to the full story. Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America (1984) Cut from almost 4 hours to an incomprehensible 140 minute, chronological version, OUATIA has never felt complete in any version. Even in the lauded Cannes cut, the story is a mix between the confusing, the repulsive and the silly, the tone veers dangerously close to the sentimental and Leone's dialogue is how can we deny the intense vision, or the depth of emotion at play? This is a real movie by a real artist on a massive canvas, and its "flaws" are inextricably linked to what makes this gangland epic of greed and betrayal so totally hypnotic, as we are drawn into its unsolvable mystery and the mix between the staggeringly dreamlike and the almost unwatchably realistic. There's still the rumoured 6 hour cut out there somewhere. Mario Bava's Lisa and the Devil (1972) Given carte blanche to make whatever movie he wanted, Mario Bava mixed Russian philosophical literature, Alice in Wonderland, Kraft - Ebbings Psychopathia Sexualis and memories of his childhood into a haunting, dreamy, funny and daringly poetic horror movie. Eschewing Gothic thrills and overt violence in favour of a pained, perverse eroticism, Bava's deliberately artificial movie was dangerously out of step in a world that had seen The Last House on the Left and Easy Rider, and sat on the shelf for three years before it was mercilessly recut into a sexually explicit Exorcist ripoff entitled House of Exorcism. It wasn't until home video that Bava's original vision couldbe seen, and like OUATIA (a film this resembles in a LOT of ways) it's confusing, but also mesmerizing. The Black Cauldron: How a singularly Hellish production produced such a hackneyed, paint by numbers story is a mystery, but the movie always LOOKS gorgeous at least. Forget the Snyder cut, what mainstream film fans SHOULD be demanding is that Disney release a definitive, uncensored release with all the scenes Michael Eisner cut out or were censored.

The Coen Brothers as Your DM I do an irregular video series on what it might be like to have various creators make a campaign "as your DM. Today's post is on the Coen Brothers. Unlike all of the previous creators, they're both still alive. I'm a fan of their motivation-oriented films, especially the ones that deal with the way the greed can drive a character to act outside of their normal bounds of morality. I also recently upgraded the character rigs to my four main models, so the show looks a little better. (Not sure how to assign an appropriate flair. Thanks for watching.

Film green mile en francais.

This was absolutely incredible and powerful 🔥🔥🔥🔥 amazing job ❤️❤️

Film green chair. Film green apple. Hey you! I rarely do this - shill for mainstream films, that is. But if you are in need of some violent, feminist catharsis through Cinema. I highly recommend catching Birds of Prey at some point. Perhaps I am simply uncultured in the particulars of femme driven action films, but this was the most unapologetic take on patriarchy I've personally experienced in blockbuster film. ESPECIALLY a comic book related film. (I was quite disappointed to see Wonder Woman spend most of her movie listening to stupid human men and then falling in love with one of them. anybody else. Birds of Prey presents several badass ladies from all ranges of the moral spectrum coming together to protect a young girl from what essentially comes down to patriarchal, misogynistic greed. Harley Quinn, Montoya, and Huntress are all great. But I've got to say Black Canary's story steals the show. Great acting matched with a great secret power. Watching the film reminded me of the meme on here a bit ago about all of the great reasons to go to the gym that have nothing to do with beauty standards. Not a film for everyone. it's essentially 1hr 50min of asskicking. And I can see some of the scene situations as potentially triggering because the depiction of patriarchy is. tangible. But I wanted to share with you guys that I was pleased with it and it reminded me of this sub. I submit myself to the will of the mods.

Ok but y'all know that Nina should have been Black Chyna right.

Jaime Blackley, yes please. Movie greed 2. Part 1: I'm alive, thankfully. I think the entire town of Whittier is dead. After I frantically typed out my last post, I checked the wall materials. Thank you u/The_Master_Of_SUCC, but these buildings walls are solid concrete. I thought about hopping out the window, but the fall was too long. Even if I broke my leg silently I wouldn't be able to get away fast enough. I drew my gun and cautiously opened the door. Nothing was there in the hallway, so I crept out and walked to the whole that would lead me to B27. My luck ran out then. The thing that made this place it's home saw me. It was large and pale, like a corpse that spent too long under the water. I shot it twice as it began reaching for me through the hole. My bullets made it stagger, but then it screamed in rage. I looked back long enough to see one of its blows crack the cement wall. I kicked the door to B26 open, and then as silently as I could I crept into B25. I heard the sounds of the wall breaking as I viewed my room. A dead body lay in the corner, dried blood all around it. It wasn't a body so much as it was just a skeleton with bits of meat hanging off of it. I saw a pack by it, and a quick glance revealed a can of red spray paint, the same color that had been used to write the warning downstairs. I went to check the window as it pounded the wall in anger. It had realized that I wasn't in the next room over. The floors, unlike the rest of the building were wood. This wood by the window just happened to be rotten, and I fell through. I landed in a cushioned seat. I was in the theater, the screen flickered to life as I got up. 'Nick! nick, NICK, nick' was the only thing the newsreel played, over and over. As I got up I heard footsteps from above. I quickly ducked down and rolled beneath seats. It dropped down, and the smell of it was to strange. Pine and mint, just how Lea always smelt. Then it used her voice again. As I heard Lea call for I began to feel guilt and self hatred like never before in my life. I hid as it patrolled the theater. Over and over Lea called for me. Every time bringing forth a fresh new wound. The woman who got into a car accident because I couldn't pick her up for our anniversary dinner. Her father, the self centered shit he was, who I beat the fuck out of for going behind my back and trying to get her unplugged while in that coma. Me, who went to the north for greed, for an escape from the pain. It was almost like I could hear a second Lea. Not the mimic who called my name, like a little devil who whispers on your shoulder. 'Just come out Nick. She'll never forgive you. You can't even forgive yourself. Then it left the theater, as if the mimic was satisfied I wasn't here. I got out for under the seats and raised my revolver. As I walked to the doors of the theater I felt uneasy. When I opened the door it pounced, but the mimic jumped to high, and flew straight over me. As I sprinted I did my best to secure my diving gear. It pursued after me with a ferocious cry. I noticed as I was running that the water was beginning to freeze over. The temperatures were dropping to fast for the water to stay solid. As I hooked up my tanks and made it back the office room I noticed I had thirty minutes of oxygen left. I slammed the door shut, praying the mimic would at least be slowed down by it. Then I put my mask on, checked that the film was secure and dove in. The water was beyond cold as I flicked my light on. I needed to hurry, it was so cold I felt like I was gonna go into shock. But as I swan back the way I came something was wrong. The hall I swam through was blocked off. Had the walls fallen down? I had put my map in my pack, so I couldn't get it out. I was about to risk going back when I heard splash. Something was in the waters of the flooded basement with me. I turned a hard left, down a corridor. As I looked on I saw bodies, at least twenty. How had I not noticed before? I dodged the corpses and turned right down the next turn. I heard something and turned off my light. Sunlight was pouring from somewhere, and I saw the mimic swim past me and turn left. I waited, before I went back and checked where the light was coming through. It was a hole in the ceiling straight outside. I crawled out of it and shed my gear, cramming it back in my bag and removing my dive suit for my normal clothes. As I changed I still felt cold. In my rush to escape I hadn't secured everything properly. I was soaking wet. I ran through the woods as fast as I could. A storm was blowing in, and as I made it back to Whittier the snow was beginning to fall from the heavy clouds as the wind blew. Back in town, the bartender gave me a very strange look. He was on the phone with someone for a bit and then asked 'Didn't ol' Robbie send you down to Buckner Building. I took a heavy swig of my drink and replied; Does it matter. The bartender was about to say something when Robbie walked in and pointed a gun straight at me. I jumped over the counter, tackling the barkeep and held my gun to his head. 'Drop it and kick it away. I demanded coolly. He obeyed and let his pistol fall to the floor, then he kicked it and raised his hands. Before Robbie could say anything I asked; Did you know what was in there. Robbie looked down in shame and said 'Yes. I pointed the gun at him and yelled; Where's my damn money. He looked up and said; I'm not paying you for nothing, and neither of us is gonna live much longer. I kicked the barkeep down on his knees and drew the film canister from my pack. It was dry, and I hurled it at Robbie angrily. He cried out as it bounced against his head and I said; You can pay me, or I can ransack your house after I shoot you. Robbie was a sensible man, and he gave me the money in old gold bars. I put it all in my van and drove away. The mimic had a way out, and was probably going to try and find me. Unfortunately I would be long gone by the time it reached town. After I was a mile ahead of the blizzard I called Lea and broke down Like never before. I sobbed and told her I was so sorry for everything, then I told her about my money. We were gonna be okay. I had to pull of eventually, and kept driving after a night of sleep. When I made it to Anchorage I stopped to eat, and the news broadcast showed Whittier. Every resident was dead. 'Nick' was written on every wall in their blood. I'm typing this up as I finish up booking a boat ride. It's lucky that the mimic will never find me.

Film greenberg. The most interesting part of this experiment was the response from the were laughing, and generally feeling entertained rather than understanding the deeper social people could give less than a sh* about others who have nothing. This TED Talk took place in Marin and it is a fact that most of the people in that community are arrogant and but true.
